My project is made under a group theme which was "Crime" and the "citys public space". We chose to work with crime preventional design in Gellerupparken,Aarhus.

Lack of sparetime-activities for the young ethnic citizens in Gellerupparken in Aarhus, and a parenting unwillingness to pay for their childrens interaction in association activities, has been the main thesis in my assignment.

With point of origin in the Street culture, I have designed urban furniture, which in use and expression accomodates intuitive use across different freestyle sports such as skateboarding, freestyle bmx and streetdance.

Street sport is a spontanius sport, which occurs in the moment. It can be practised any time and at any place, and there is no demands for your participation.

My vision has been to create urban city furniture, which takes the street sports freedom of movement into account, together with the necessecary demands for the performer, to be able to carry out his or her tricks.

The urban furniture is placed in union with the context and varies from beeing plateues to seating areas and to become a part of the path in the park.

It differentiates from traditionel cityfurniture and stereotype skateborading ramps - instead it relates to the street culture in shape of its reference to the world of graffiti.

StreetTag should be a meeting point for people across ethnic barriers and background differences.

As part of making the area a succes, there should be rolemodels linked to it. These rolemodels should be like-minded youths, and should be able to engage with the young boys and girls of the area. They should inspire and act as teamleader, but not as a trainer. As part of the "rolemodel-concept", a website is a part of the area as well(see bottom of this page). Here it is possible to hook up to a free sms-system and to exchance photos and new self-thaught tricks.
